ARCHIVEMAG — WHO WE ARE
The magazine

Who We Are

On one side of the cultural landscape sit its major institutions and established names.

On the other, entirely independent practices, many of them still on the margins.

archivemag is interested in the space between: creatives and writers whose work holds undeniable quality but might not yet have found their admiring audience.

We believe that this space in between is where culture's most substantial conversations tend to happen. While the word space may sound vast, we mean it in the most fulfilled way: with ideas, reflections, arguments, theories, and the process of proving them through creation. It is an honest reflection of where the culture actually stands: its voice, mood, priorities, trajectory. archivemag exists to reflect it, in words and visuals.

The magazine is a platform for creatives with an academic background or proven professional experience, and related organisations. Submissions are open to all via archive-mag.com, with priority given to emerging voices who appear alongside established names within the same issue.

Our contributors bring academic depth or hands-on professional experience to their subjects, but write as if explaining their work to a friend outside the art world. This is writing for readers who spend time in art galleries and creative spaces: substantial enough to hold their attention, accessible enough to read in a single visit. Image carries the same weight as text throughout, as visual material is treated not as illustration, but as argument in its own right.

archivemag is distributed through more than 30 creative hubs worldwide, including London, New York, Copenhagen, Berlin, Geneva and Shanghai. The magazine is produced by a team of professionals with a background in art and fashion academia and extensive publishing experience.
